In the beginning.....

We have yet to be able to take "Elixir" out, but even so, we are thoroughly enjoying our boat.  We are spending as many weekends as we can on her and the relaxing times (in between the work projects) include watching the dolphins that swim by every day!  Sometimes they stick around for awhile catching fish in the marina or playing with each other.  No matter how many times we see them, we never tire of watching and whenever you hear the sound of one blowing, the alarm "dolphins" is sounded and everyone comes running topside to watch!

Even though "Elixir" is far from ready, we have already had visitors aboard.  Our first was Sherry Wardlaw, Marie's cousin.  She is a brave soul who spent the weekend with us on-board the weekend after we purchased "Elixir".  There was still junk from the previous owner all over the  boat and nothing worked, including the A/C.  To make matters worse, we got hit by the first tropical storm of the 2013 season and we had leaks everywhere!  Sherry was a trooper about it all and even had nice things to say about her visit in our guest book!

Next was our daughter Jennifer, and her family.  They spent the weekend on board which gave us an opportunity to try out the drop down galley table for use as a bed.  Other than needing to be oiled for easier lifting and lowering, it worked fine and Jenny said it was very comfortable.  They went crabbing off the docks and in two days caught 17 blue crabs!  We had our first crab feast and everyone got fat and happy!

Even our dog, Abby, has made herself at home on "Elixir"
and seems much more relaxed than when at home!

Although Abby will tell you in a heartbeat her opinion
of travelling the 5 hours to get here!
